A Sunward Tilt wins 2nd place at International Clarinet Association 2026 Composition Competition

I’m proud to share that my piece for reed quintet A Sunward Tilt has won 2nd place (Honorable Mention) at the International Clarinet Association’s 2026 Composition Competition!

From its beginning, A Sunward Tilt has been one of my favorite compositions, blending life-affirming and elegiac moods and taking its inspiration from seasonal living in the pacific northwest, my home. I’m excited that mixture is finding resonance more widely!
